I am a certified celebrant trained by the In-Sight Institute. A certified celebrant is trained to help families through the early stages of grief by creating a thoroughly personalized funeral service.
I've lived in Louisiana all my life, except for a two-year
stint in Seattle, WA. I grew up in Shreveport, received my Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, and Spanish under a Presidential Scholarship from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, and have found a home in New Orleans since 2014.
I think a nice cup of something warm (tea or cafe au lait are my favorites) and cuddles with my cat, Lu, are daily necessities, as is a good meal. I like to read books that my English professors never got around to teaching but referenced in passing, and cook recipes with maximalist flavor profiles. In my free time, I'm probably watching a movie with subtitles, eating biscuits, or creating something (jewelry, embroidery, books, sewing, or a drawing).
